The Florence area is probably the most scenic on the Oregon Coast.  The region is dominated by beautiful forest, fresh water lakes, rivers, and of course the sand and beach.  This and the following pages are intended to give you a brief photo tour of the Florence area

Where the Forest  Meets the Sand & Sea!
About 10 miles north of Florence, near the famous Sea Lion Caves, the Oregon coast becomes rugged and picturesque.

This photo was taken along Highway 101 and is looking south towards Florence.  Highlighted are the expansive beaches in the Florence area, shown here at low tide.

The Florence Waterfront
Florence is actually located at the mouth of the Siuslaw River, where the rivers meets the ocean.  Thus the Florence harbor is really a freshwater harbor on the situated on the river.

Shown here is a picture of Mo's Restaurant, with fishing boats and and old paddle boat moored alongside.  Tours of the river on the paddle boat are available daily in season.

The Historic Florence Bridge
Highway 101 passes into Florence from the south over the scenic and historic Florence bridge.

The bridge spans the Siuslaw River, and it is show here highlighted by a blooming Quince bush in the spring.

Entrance to Old Town
Starting with historic and scenic Old Town, the Florence area is a unique vacation and living experience!

The entrance to Old Town, located in southern Florence along the Siuslaw River, is highlighted by fabulous blooms of rhododendrons in the spring.

Old Town
Old Town is known for it's artistic fishing village-like setting at the mouth of the Siuslaw River.  It combines interesting shopping and fine dining in the many small boutiques, galleries, and restaurants along the waterfront!
